Pennsylvania State University (commonly referred to as Penn State or PSU) was instituted on February 22, 1855. It is a public research Land Grant and Space Grant university and is located in University Park, Pennsylvania. In 1871, the first female students were enrolled and in 1873, Rebecca Hannah Ewing became the first female graduate. Dark royal blue and white are the university’s official colors. The Penn State Scentsy warmer features the school colors with its white base and dark blue top. It has the school mascot and the words Penn State centered on the front. Being in the Scentsy Campus Collection means that a portion of the sales from this warmer will go back to the school.

Nittany Lion is the mascot that represents the athletics teams that call themselves the Nittany Lions. The athletic teams are members of the Big Ten Conference in Division-1 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). They compete in twenty-one (21) varsity sports. The university’s sports teams have a commanding national success record. Due to allegations in a sex scandal, the NCAA placed sanctions against Penn State and the Nittany Lions football team. They received a 60 million dollar fine, a four year post season ban, loss of many scholarships, vacating all Penn State victories from 1998-2011, and a 5 year probation for the team. In 1974, the university was responsible for the invention of the rechargeable pacemaker for the heart and the device was implanted in a seventy-six (76) years old woman from Harrisburg. By 1978, the university’s research team helped to develop the Heart Assist Pump. A few alumni of note of the university include Herman Fisher (co-founder of the toy company Fisher-Price); Richard T. James (the Slinky inventor); John Aniston (actor and father of actress Jennifer Aniston); Paul Berg (1980 winner of the Nobel Prize in chemistry); and Jonathan Frakes (actor and director of Star Trek: The Next Generation). Scentsy is proud to have the Penn State Scentsy warmer as part of our Scentsy College Warmers Collection! This licensed Scentsy warmer displays the school colors of dark blue and white. It also features the school mascot centered on the front!
