Georgia Tech University was instituted on October 13, 1885 as Georgia School of Technology. The name change to Georgia Institute of Technology occurred in 1948. In 1961, it became the first university in the Southern United States to admit students of African American heritage without a court order. It is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The official school colors are white, old gold, and dark navy. The Georgia Tech Scentsy Warmer is a licensed warmer that is part of the Campus Collection. It has a gold base with a navy blue top and the school name and logo in navy blue.

Georgia Tech is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is a public space-grant research facility. The university is also a member of the Association of American Universities. It is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in the United States and the world. It has held a top ten ranking among American public universities for the past ten years. The Georgia Tech athletics teams are called the Yellow Jackets and they are represented by a mascot named Buzz. However, a 1930 Ford Model-A Cabriolet Coupe called Ramblin’ Wreck has been used since 1961 to usher in the teams at every major game and event. The sports teams belong to Division-1 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The university has seventeen varsity teams, and their biggest rival is the University of Georgia. The famous fight song for the athletics teams is “I’m A Ramblin’ Wreck from Georgia Tech” and is known worldwide. The song is adapted from an old drinking song (“Son of a Gambolier”) and has shown up in history. When Richard Nixon was Vice President, he and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev sang the song together when they met in Moscow in 1958 to reduce the tension between them. Apparently, Nixon didn’t know any Russian songs, but Khrushchev knew this song from seeing it on the Ed Sullivan Show. It is reported to have been the first song sang in space, Gregory Peck sang it in the movie “The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit” and John Wayne whistled it in the movie “The High and the Mighty”. There are also many accounts of commanding officers that were in the boats crossing the English Channel, the morning of D-Day, leading their men in this song as a way to calm their nerves. It is also sang after every Georgia Tech play at their football games
