West Virginia University (WVU) is a public land grant research university that is located in Morgantown, West Virginia. WVU is affiliated with Blanchette Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute, which is dedicated to the study of diseases of the brain, including Alzheimers. The schools athletics teams are called the Mountaineers and compete in the NCAA Division 1. In July 2012 they became a part of the Big 12 Conference. The official school colors are gold and blue.
