Syracuse Scentsy Warmer

Syracuse University (commonly referred to as ‘Cuse or SU) is a private research university that was instituted in 1870. It is located in Syracuse, New York. In 1874, it was the first university in the United States to offer a Bachelor of Arts degree. The athletics teams of SU are called the Orange and the mascot is Otto the Orange. The Syracuse Scentsy Warmer proudly represents this school by featuring the school color of orange with a big block “S” centered in the front. In 1890, Syracuse University became the first college in the United States to use only one color to represent its school. For Syracuse, that official color is orange. Nine football players wearing the number forty-four (44) have won games and titles since 1954. Therefore, the number forty-four (44) has a special meaning to the school’s athletic success. So much so that the school changed its zip code to 13244 and its telephone prefixes to 442 and 443. In 1961, Ernie Davis was the first Syracuse football player and the first African American to win the Heisman Trophy. The university has twenty (20) varsity teams. The sports teams are represented by a costumed mascot named Otto the Orange. The athletics teams are called Orange. The teams currently participate in Division-1 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the Big East Conference, but have accepted membership into the Atlantic Coast Conference and will be a part of that conference as of 2013.
